Where we deliver: Your hospital options
Personalised care with the flexibility to choose where you give birth
With Dr Greg Jenkins and Dr Naim Arrage, you can choose to give birth at one of three leading maternity hospitals in Sydney: Norwest Private, Westmead Private, or Westmead Public.
Dr Jenkins consults privately from Norwest Private, while Dr Arrage consults from both Norwest Private and Westmead Private. Both doctors offer delivery at all three hospitals.
This flexible model means you can stay with your chosen doctor throughout pregnancy and birth, while selecting the hospital that best fits your preferences — whether that’s location, facilities, or cost. For some families, giving birth in a public hospital while receiving private obstetric care can significantly reduce expenses without compromising the quality of care. The medical support remains the same — the setting is simply different.
Whichever path you choose, you’ll be supported with continuity, experience and personalised care from start to finish.
-
Norwest Private Hospital
Dr Greg Jenkins and Dr Naim Arrage both consult and deliver at Norwest Private Hospital, a modern, well-equipped private maternity facility in Bella Vista. Known for its personalised care and comfortable setting, Norwest is ideal for families seeking a supportive, patient-focused environment close to home.
-
Westmead Private Hospital
Both Dr Jenkins and Dr Arrage offer obstetric care at Westmead Private Hospital — a leading maternity hospital in Western Sydney. With advanced birthing suites, neonatal support and experienced midwifery teams, it provides a high standard of care in a private setting for those who prefer or require additional services.
-
Westmead Public Hospital
Dr Jenkins and Dr Arrage also provide delivery care at Westmead Public Hospital, one of Sydney’s largest and most respected public maternity units. It’s a valuable option for families seeking the reassurance of private specialist care in a more cost-accessible setting. Both doctors also contribute to advanced clinical care and the training of future specialists at this major teaching hospital.
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to common pregnancy questions from our Sydney patients. These are general guides. Always speak with your obstetrician for personalised medical advice. If you have more questions, contact us. We’re here to help.
-
If you experience heavy bleeding (heavier than a period), seek immediate medical advice. If you're less than 20 weeks pregnant, contact Dr. Arrage or Dr. Jenkins directly. If you're more than 20 weeks pregnant, contact the labour ward. For lighter bleeding without abdominal pain, schedule a review on the next working day. If bleeding is accompanied by pain, contact either your doctor or the labour ward as mentioned above.
-
Vaginal thrush (Candida) is common during pregnancy. It's safe to use over-the-counter treatments from your pharmacy, including vaginal creams or pessaries. If using a cream, use the applicator for effective treatment.
-
Over-the-counter preparations are safe and effective for treating heartburn and indigestion during pregnancy. Follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding dosage and frequency.
-
Start with dietary measures: increase fluid intake and dietary fibre (fruits, vegetables, cereals). If ineffective, try a bulk laxative like Metamucil or Fybogel. Other safe options include Normacol, Senokot, and Coloxyl. Suppositories and enemas can be used if necessary.
-
Haemorrhoids are common in late pregnancy. Avoid constipation and use over-the-counter hemorrhoid preparations like Proctosedyl or Rectinol. For severe pain, ice packs can provide relief.
-
In a first pregnancy, foetal movements are often noticed between 18 and 22 weeks. From about 26 weeks, you should feel movement daily. If you don't feel movements or they seem reduced, rest quietly for 20 minutes to focus on feeling movement. If you still don't feel movement, contact your hospital's Birth Unit for assessment.
-
Common colds don't pose significant risks to your pregnancy. Treat fever with paracetamol (2 tablets every four hours, max 8 per day) and stay hydrated. If fever persists for more than 48 hours, consult your GP. For symptom relief, refer to our safe medications list.
-
While many medications are safe during pregnancy, some should be avoided. Always consult with your obstetrician or healthcare provider before taking any medication, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal remedies. We provide a comprehensive list of safe medications during your prenatal visits.
-
The frequency of prenatal check-ups typically increases as your pregnancy progresses. In general, you'll have monthly visits until 28 weeks, then every two weeks until 36 weeks, and weekly thereafter. However, this schedule may vary based on your individual needs and risk factors.
-
Folic acid and iodine are essential for all pregnant women. Depending on your individual needs, your obstetrician may recommend additional supplements such as iron, calcium, or vitamin D. We'll discuss your specific nutritional needs during your prenatal visits.
